Summer Reading Program

All children are invited to participate in the 2019 summer reading program, A Universe of Stories. Summer is a great time for kids to discover new stories, re-read their favorites, explore new genres, and win prizes along the way!

Here is how the program works:

Beginning Tuesday May 28, you may stop by the Franklin and Springboro libraries and pick up a reading log and stickers.

Younger Readers (little experience) *

  • For every 10 minutes that you read (or someone reads to you), add one sticker to your log sheet.
  • Once you have added 12 stickers (completed two hours of reading), you have completed level one and are eligible for your first prize. Bring your reading log to the library to collect your prize.
  • There are four levels total, and you receive prizes for each level you complete. It will take eight hours of reading to complete all four levels.
  • Once you have finished all four levels, you also receive an entry slip for our grand prize drawing!

Older Readers (more experience) *

  • For every 20 minutes that you read (or someone reads to you), add one sticker to your log sheet.
  • Once you have added 12 stickers (completed four hours of reading), you have completed level one and are eligible for your first prize. Bring your reading log to the library to collect your prize.
  • There are four levels total, and you receive prizes for each level you complete. It will take 16 hours of reading to complete all four levels.
  • Once you have finished all four levels, you also receive an entry slip for our grand prize drawing!

*Parents decide whether to consider their child a younger or older reader.

The summer reading program runs from May 28 – July 21.
