Hiking the Grand Canyon

Rim to Rim on the Grand Canyon's North Kaibab to Bright Angel Trails

Join John Riggins as he shares his 5 day/5 night Rim to Rim backpacking trip covering 25.5 miles (not including side hikes) through the Grand Canyon in July, one of the hottest months in the Southwest United States.  John started in mild weather on the North Rim and adventured through the extreme temperature changes that the Grand Canyon supplies.  Desert backpacking can test a person's stamina yet provide some of the most breathtaking views on Earth.

John Riggins is co-owner of True Heights Equipment Outfitters.  He became interested in the outdoors after joining the Boy Scouts of America in 1998.  From mountain tops to raging rivers, John has over 400 nights camping, 3,000 trail miles hiked, and nearly 1,000 water miles paddled.
