Read to Raider
At the beginning of each month, we have a special program here at the Franklin-Springboro Public Library, where children can read with Therapy Dogs! Yes, they will be reading to dogs and guess what?! These dogs will actually lay down and listen! This program is especially for any new readers, preferably starting with first graders and beyond. You may bring your own book to read or you can choose from the library. If you have your library card, you may check them out to read to your pet at home.

All of the owners are members of the Clover Canine 4H Club and all the dogs are specially trained Therapy Dogs. By reading to these dogs, your child's reading skills may greatly improve! Research shows that when children read to a Therapy Dog, they feel more secure and confident, since they won't be laughed at if they make mistakes. It is a great practice to improve on their reading skills as well. If you would like more information about Therapy Dogs go to Therapy Dogs International.
